Summary Summary: The 1942 Kokoda campaign lasted only four months, but it's a battle that Australia won't ever forget. Many of the troops that fought along the track were ill-equipped and unprepared. The tropical conditions were like nothing they'd ever experienced. They were completely outnumbered by the Japanese. The track itself was like a mudslide, with almost every step they took either up or down. It was jungle warfare at its most difficult. (From book cover)
